The Yugioh.TCGplayer.com Weekly Writers Contest

Each round lasts for an average of 5 weekdays. The best published article during that period wins a $25 gift certificate for use at DACardWorld.com.

Prizes are awarded upon announcement by the Ascension Gaming Network via email. The AGN staff will contact the winners for all the necessary information. Articles can be about the following:
  • Competitive YuGiOh
This can be any YuGiOh format where the goal is to compete against other players for prize support in a tournament structure. While most of the articles will probably be on constructed deck formats, Limited articles are also welcome. Player's can write on General strategy, Deck Ideas or a full Tournament Report. Also, all discussions on current policies and issues for Competitive YuGiOh would fit perfectly here.
  • YuGiOh Fan Fiction
If you have a great story to tell involving YuGiOh characters or just set in the YuGiOh universe then send it in. Please note that a story must be of high quality to be worthy of winning versus Competitive articles.

A note on editing:

It would greatly skew the results of our Writers' GP if every article underwent the scrutiny and rewrites that often occur when prepping articles for publication. While we want only the best to be shown, it would make fair judging of the submissions completely impossible and the authors' true ability would not be seen.

As such, the entries into our GP that you see are carefully edited to bring a fair balance of those goals; we want to present enjoyable, readable articles while at the same time preserving the voice and true ability of the author. We realize that at times this means that there may be small errors, but we believe that this balance is most fair to the readers, the entrants, and to the spirit of the competition.

Additional Notes:
  • When submitting an article, it is important to let us know if you have also submitted the article to any other site(s). We do not post submissions that have already appeared on another site.
  • All submissions should be properly checked for typos, spelling, and grammar. Submissions that are sloppy or which contain numerous errors will not be considered for publication. Capitalize all card names!!! Please check the Submission Tips for a full run-down on things to watch out for.
  • Submissions that include slander, profanity, significant hostility, or are otherwise deemed to be inappropriate will not be accepted. Please check the Submission Tips for a full run-down on things to watch out for.
  • When writing your submission, please make sure not to use any tab strokes, as "tabs" can have unpredictable effects during the coding process. Instead, please use a return stroke to denote a new paragraph. (i. e. put a blank line between each paragraph or better yet place between each paragraph.) We prefer that articles be submitted in Plain TEXT format only. Please check the Submission Tips for a full run-down on things to watch out for.
  • TCGplayer maintains the right to edit submissions for content and/or length as necessary. All rights for publication and usage are reserved by TCGplayer. To protect both the site and our authors, plagiarism of any article(s) or original content material on TCGplayer will not be tolerated. Any such action should be assumed to be an invitation to legal action. We regret the necessity of such harshness, but plagiarism is theft, and we will treat it as such.
  • When emailing any submission, please place any information not intended for submission in brackets [ ] at the top of the email. For example:

[The following is a review of the recent expansion set. It has not been submitted to any other sites.]

    article text would begin here.
  • Finally, as a legal note, all views expressed in any submission on YuGiOh are of course those of the author(s), and in no way should be taken to indicate those of TCGplayer. But, all material sent in to us and displayed on the site will become the property of TCGplayer.com and is thus covered under the Copyright Laws.
  • Submissions should be emailed to Submit@DuelYuGiOh.com.
