EL SEGUNDO, CA (October 12, 2010) After fourteen rounds of preliminary play in this city steeped in hallowed history, the halls were abuzz at the modern Philadelphia Convention Center as the final round of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series got underway. Thanh Nguyen of Royal Oak, Michigan beat out hundreds of hopeful Duelists to earn the title of Champion at Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc's. (Konami) Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS), one of the premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) events held throughout the year. This tournament matched nearly 950 Duelists against each other in face-to-face competition, all looking for a chance at recognition and incredible prizes.

Thanh expertly utilized a Plant Synchro Deck, while his opponent, Kenny Kwan of Astoria, New York countered with a Quickdraw Dandywarrior Deck. As the time ticked away, Kwan's strategy collapsed as Nguyen's stayed steady and strong for the win.

Nguyen earned a tremendous prize package that included a set of Ultra Rare YCS Prize Cards, an exclusive YCS Game Mat, a netbook computer, a paid trip to his 2011 World Championship Qualifier, and more!
