Welcome to the last Market Watch of the format.

Today competition rolls over into the new March 31st F&L List, and in two weeks we'll see the arrival of the much-anticipated Dinosmasher's Fury Structure Deck. While many of the trends we've observed since the reveal of the new format are all still in place – Metalfoes, Kaijus, and Paleozoics all remain hot prospects – the big shift this week was a trend we started to see last time; the new True King Dinosaur deck is fast becoming the biggest influence in recent memory.

As always, today we're counting down the Top 10 bestselling cards by volume of sales in the TCGplayer Marketplace, starting Monday and ending this morning. With over 1000 active Yu-Gi-Oh! sellers here on TCGplayer, all of whom compete for your dueling dollars, we gather a ton of data. By setting aside rarity and card price we can see the sheer number of each card being sold, and compare it to others. That lets us see player responses to upcoming releases, overseas news, and mass migration between different decks.

Let's get to it! These were the Top 10 bestsellers in the TCGplayer Marketplace this week.

#10: Interrupted Kaiju Slumber

Interest in the Kaiju engine persists despite Interrupted Kaiju Slumber going to 2-per-deck. Now that players know the Kaiju engine isn't getting smacked right out of competition, it seems clear from the steady sales that a lot of competitors who were holding off on getting their Kaiju cards are now taking the plunge.

The sales may also suggest speculation, since Slumber remains affordable at $2.50 a pop, but could see a small price spike if supply runs out. Supply's always run pretty deep since Interrupted Kaiju Slumber's just a Super Rare, but it's slowly creeping up in price.

During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Kaiju" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Interrupted Kaiju Slumber" per turn.

#9: Lost Wind

Like Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, Lost Wind has been widely available since it was released due to its low rarity, but may be getting a bit more scarce. With an average market price of $2.32 at the time of this writing, it's tracking a solidly upward Price Trend. We're nowhere near a buyout, but a sellout situation at some point in the future isn't an outrageous idea.

#8: Jurrac Aeolo

Speaking of buyouts, Jurrac Aeolo's the latest card to get snapped up by players and speculators, leaving virtually no copies in the Marketplace. Both the Duel Terminal and Hidden Arsenal 4 printings are nowhere to be found, and when you can find one they're largely over the $4 mark. As True King Dinosaur decks continue to generate big results over in the OCG, players are picking up the cards they'll need to build it now, weeks in advance of the April 14th Dinosmasher's Fury release.

#7: Denglong, First of the Yang Zing

The Yang Zing Synchro Tuner's seeing tournament play in both the True King Dinosaur deck in the OCG, as well as a handful of Zefra decks that have started topping there. That revamped Zefra strategy also pushed sales of PSY-Framegear Gamma to a very small group of buyers over the week, and if you haven't seen what the deck looks like, you can check it out over at The Organization.

#6: Babycerasaurus

Packing an effect that combos perfectly with True Kings, Lost World, and Souleating Oviraptor, Babycerasaurus has emerged as a must-run three-of for the True King Dinosaur deck in Japan, and is expected to hold the same status when the strategy becomes playable here. With three big printings in Power of the Duelist, Dinosaur's Rage, and Legendary Collection 4, plus a limited run as a Duelist League promo, it's supremely affordable and players were stocking up.

#5: True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher

One of the three True King monsters played in True King Dinos, Agnimazud isn't appearing in every build we've seen, but it's an obvious option, and wise players definitely want to get their copies now before the pricetag gets even bigger. With a rising Price Trend, it's currently a $10 Ultra Rare despite hefty supply.

#4: Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit

After seeing a dip in play at YCS Atlanta, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit is back as a staple in Kaiju and Pure Zoodiacs, and is seeing increasing play in Paleozoic Frogs and Infernoids. At YCS Atlanta a number of Top 32 finishers skipped Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit out of a concern that their well-practiced opponents would play around it, and while that might have been the right call for the YCS, Regionals and locals operate on a different level that gives the card more utility.

It's everywhere in the OCG right now too, including in… you guessed it: True King Dinosaurs.

#3: Instant Fusion

Now virtually a staple in Zoodiac variants since it can compensate for the loss of the deck's third Zoodiac Ratpier, Instant Fusion's also a hot prospect for certain builds of True King Dinosaurs. At this point it's been in the Top 10 for so long since its reprint in Fusion Enforcers that there isn't much left to say. It's a hugely powerful card that can make an impact whether you're playing one copy or three, adding a ton of flexibility and toolboxing to anything with Rank 4 monsters.

Interestingly the Super Rare Fusion Enforcers version is now three bucks, outpacing the Cyberdark Impact original.

#2: True King Lithosagym, the Disaster

True King Dinosaur builds may run varying numbers True King Bahrastos, the Fathomer and True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher, and some skip one of the two altogether. But they all run three copies of True King Lithosagym, the Disaster, matching Attributes with Babycerasaurus and Petiranodon for Lithosagym's Special Summon ability. It's a 2500 ATK beatstick, a recursive powerhouse, a strong enabler for key combos, and it even lends utility to stuff like Tyranno Infinity and Maxx "C".

If True King Dinosaurs really are the next big thing, then True King Lithosagym, the Disaster's bound to become one of the hottest cards in the game. Suddenly its rarity makes sense: while Bahrastos and Agnimazud were both Ultra Rares, perhaps Lithosagym was printed as a Super Rare to make the Dinosmasher's Fury Structure Deck more appealing, and easier to build with.

#1: Baobaboon

Baobaboon's seen Top Cut success in conventional Zoodiac Metalfoes decks the past weeks, but in the OCG it's part of a splashable engine where players run as few as six Metalfoes cards. It's being played in everything from Dinosaurs to Kozmos and beyond. Speedroid Terrortop's Limited in the OCG, so that Baobaboon Metalfoes engine has more of a place. Right now it's up in the air as to whether that kind of technique could be relevant here in the TCG, where Terrortop remains unrestricted.

But that factor aside, players are still buying up Baobaboon like hotcakes. It's only dropped from the Market Watch Top 3 once since it was released, and that was in the wake of the new F&L List, when players briefly shifted their focus to newly errata'd cards like Rescue Cat and Imperial Order. Aside from that it's been leading sales since it debuted.

And as we've said in past discussions, that suggests players are going to keep playing Zoodiac Metalfoes even without Majespecter Unicorn – Kirin. I'm not sure the smart money bet would've predicted that, and I'm equally unsure about the deck's potential moving forward. But competitors are clearly going to be playing Metalfoes this weekend, and it's a matchup you'll want to prepare for.

That's it for this Market Watch, and that's it for this format! This weekend we'll see the first Regional Qualifiers held in highly competitive metagames like Denver, Kissimmee, Tulsa, and Columbus, so we're going to get a really good idea of what this format is going to look like, right off the bat.

We'll have deck lists from those tournaments over in the Deck Archive as soon as they start to roll in, and we'll be back on Monday with another Market Watch to get a look at the first new trends of the April 2017 format.

See you then!
