Welcome to the last Market Watch before the Maximum Crisis Sneak Peek weekend!

Looking at sales patterns from Monday to Friday, we saw several shifts that directly correlate to the release of the new set. Interest in Yang Zings and Subterrors spiked, and after a brief dip last week, all three True Kings were back in the Top 10. Literally all of our Top 10 cards this week have been here before, so nothing was too unexpected.

Without further ado, here were the Top 10 bestselling cards of the week.

#10: The Hidden City

Hype for the four new Subterror cards drove The Hidden City back into the Top 10, jumping it from the eight dollar mark to a twelve dollar price point. Subterror Behemoth Speleogeist, Subterror Behemoth Phospheroglacier, Subterror Final Battle, and especially Subterror Fiendess spurred on more interest in the theme than ever before, with all four of the cards having promising abilities.

There are very few copies of The Hidden City left at its current $12 price, and judging by the look of stock in the TCGplayer Marketplace at the time this was written, it seems like the City could easily reach $16 over the course of the weekend.

#9: True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher

Returning to the Top 10, True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher has featured in several of the recent True King Dinosaur decks we've seen in Regionals, and its position as the third most played True King in that strategy corresponds to its place in the Top 10 this week.

Take a look at some of the deck lists topping with all three True Kings and you'll see the pattern of priority amongst the three True Kings; that trend is likely to continue through the release of Maximum Crisis.

#8: Evolzar Laggia

A must-run for True King Dinos, Evolzar Laggia's been a steady mover in the TCGplayer Marketplace for several weeks. It's no surprise to see it in the Top 10, but remember that Laggia's generally played as a one-of in most builds. To see the card trending this high for this long, really says something about the sheer number of people who plan to run True King Dinosaurs.

#7: True King Bahrastos, the Fathomer

The second-most played True King in the TK Dinosaur deck, True King Bahrastos, the Fathomer clocked in at Number 7, outpacing True King Agnimazud but selling nowhere near the numbers of True King Lithosagym. A majority of the Dinosaur decks we've seen so far aren't actually running the two lesser True Kings, but they probably will be once Dragonic Diagram goes legal.

#6: Instant Fusion

Instant Fusion! Back in the Top 10 after a brief hiatus.

It's difficult to attribute Instant Fusion's return to the Top 10 to any one factor. But suffice to say, it continues to be more and more ubiquitous across an array of strategies. And with the WCQ season ramping up – especially with World Qualifying Points becoming more prominent in the minds of competitors – widely useful cards like these are going to be moving in bigger numbers, especially as lapsed players return to the game for the summer season.

#5: Evolzar Dolkka

While demand for Evolzar Dolkka remains high, it's now on a downward price trend as Collector Tin copies from the 2012 reprint keep rolling in. Monster effect negation remains incredibly powerful, and strapping it to a 2300 ATK body you can deploy for extremely negligible card economy is huge. The new Dinosaur variants are really good at making Rank 4's, and many of the successful builds we've seen so far are packing Rescue Rabbit and Megalosmasher X for even more access.

#4: Ancient Gear Howitzer

Ancient Gears slumped a little this week, with Chaos Ancient Gear Giant narrowly missing the Top 10, but the theme's two most popular cards are still hanging in at Number 3 and Number 4. Once again, Ancient Gear Howitzer played second fiddle, as an easily Summoned two-material Fusion that unleashes the theme's biggest Main Deck threats. It's an absolute must-run, but it's still a little weird that Ancient Gears are generating so much player interest; the strategy has yet to deliver in tournaments.

#3: Ancient Gear Hunting Hound

Howitzer was trumped once again by Ancient Gear Hunting Hound, the chief enabler for Fusion builds of the Ancient Gear strategy. We've spoken of it week in and week out since it debuted, so by now you know the routine: Hunting Hound offers smart card economy by serving as two of the cards you need for a Fusion Summon, and that makes the idea of a Fusion Summoning theme more approachable.

Its burn effect and even its ATK can be valuable as well, letting you sneak in valuable chip damage on your way to bigger plays.

#2: Nine Pillars of Yang Zing

Perhaps the biggest swerve in the TCGplayer Marketplace this week, Nine Pillars of Yang Zing clocked in at Number 8 on our Monday countdown as interest in True King Yang Zings experiences a last minute surge. True King cards have been popular with Yang Zings on and off in the OCG, but that fact got lost here in TCG territories amidst the huge hype for TK Dinosaurs.

The market's correcting a bit now that more players are noticing the strategy's potential, and that's manifested as huge enthusiasm for the deck's key trap card. The trend also gives us reason to look back at our previous interpretations of sales patterns: Denglong, First of the Yang Zing sold quite heavily a few weeks ago, and while it's a staple for True King Dinosaurs, that might have been a function of early Yang Zing enthusiasm too.

There are five Regional Qualifiers scheduled for the first weekend when Maximum Crisis goes legal, and from there we're headed right into YCS Pittsburgh the following week. It'll be interesting to see how True King Yang Zings do in those events.

#1: True King Lithosagym, the Disaster

And as most would have predicted, the bestselling card of the week was True King Lithosagym, the Disaster. Still affordable at less than six bucks a pop, it becomes clearer and clearer every week why KDE printed Lithosagym as a Super Rare instead of an Ultra Rare like its True King compatriots. With Agnimazud over 22 dollars, it's easy to see where True King Lithosagym could've wound up if it was printed in a higher rarity. With Lithosagym still so accessible there are very few barriers to entry for this strategy, though Dragonic Diagram is sure to break some hearts this weekend.

Beyond the Top 10, Chaos Ancient Gear Giant took the Number 11 spot, while Quaking Mirror Force and Retaliating "C" continue to be popular tech picks in the Number 13 and Number 15 positions. Watch out for both in your tournaments moving forward; the reprint of Quaking Mirror Force made it much more popular, while the sheer number of Special Summon spells made Retaliating "C" an increasingly common sight in Side Decks.

Kaijus were pretty big this week as well, with Interrupted Kaiju Slumber coming in at Number 12 and Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju reaching Number 14. Dogoran's received lots of attention the past few weeks since it's a Dinosaur, and a regular staple in TK Dino builds.

That's it for now! Be sure to stick with us this week to see the first impact of Maximum Crisis as it arrives in pre-sale here on TCGplayer.
