The new F&L List is here, and on Friday we're going to see the massive impact it has on the TCGplayer Marketplace! But for now we have one last look at what players, collectors, and speculators were picking up in the final weekend of the Zoodiac format.

As the new OCG F&L List crept into newsfeeds and started shaping stateside discussion, the expectations for a similar List here in the TCG ramped up over the weekend. Sure enough, that's exactly what we got, and you can look at the Top 10 over the weekend and see how that List, plus a few other factors, created buying patterns from Friday to Monday morning.

While the Top 4 bestselling cards of the weekend were largely big performers unrelated to Advanced Format speculation, picks like Toadally Awesome and Pre-Preparation of Rites were pushed by relatively safe predictions for our new competitive landscape, and trends like the continued SPYRAL hype chased the top sellers from last week.

What did the final Top 10 of the 2017 summer era look like? Let's dive straight into the numbers, starting with a new entry.

#10: Sylvan Princessprite

It's been rare to see Sylvan Princessprite in Market Watch Top 10's, though as one of the best Rank 1's in competition today, it's made the cut a few times before. Now Princessprite's suddenly a top pick again, as players rush to pick up their copies before the debut of SPYRAL Double Helix in Circuit Break.

Sylvan Princessprite's emerged as a staple for SPYRAL decks in OCG territories, and it was just the first of at least three cards placing in the Top 10 this week as SPYRAL hype builds.

You can only use each effect of "Sylvan Princessprite" once per turn.

#9: Foolish Burial Goods

The second of those SPYRAL-centric picks was none other than Foolish Burial Goods. A combo-building helper card that fixes hands to produce more combos in the new breed of SPYRAL decks, Foolish Burial's no longer just a sigh-inducing pull for Fluffal players waiting on the sweet release of Frightfur Patchwork.

After several weeks of strong sales, we're finally seeing dwindling supply of Foolish Burial Goods in the TCGplayer Marketplace, and that's created an upward Price Trend. A couple weeks ago it was available for four to five dollars, but now it's above six bucks and climbing. Several vendors still have dozens of copies, but many players are just figuring out this card's role in SPYRALS, and that may continue to surge demand.

#8: SPYRAL GEAR - Drone

What a price spike! SPYRAL GEAR Drone was widely available for an average Market Price of 30 cents just days ago, but another rising Price Trend has pushed it up to the $2 range. We've seen Rare cards from The Dark Illusion spike before D/D Savant Thomas is certainly the most famous example and now we're seeing similar price points from not just Drone, but SPYRAL GEAR Big Red and SPYRAL Quick-Fix as well.

That price spike for Quik-Fix and Drone make a lot of sense since they're currently three-ofs in OCG builds and likely to remain that way in our TCG, but Big Red is seeing less use, so that might be a bit of unwarranted inflation due to speculative buys. That said, neither card sold anywhere near as well as Drone did this weekend.

#7: Floodgate Trap Hole

A strong performer in recent weeks of Regionals, Floodgate Trap Hole's popularity was largely driven by its efficacy in matchups that no longer exist. Will it prove popular in the new format? That's anybody's guess at this point; right now it's too early to know if its somewhat specific effect will remain viable.

#6: Pre-Preparation of Rites

Factors like the impending release of new Vendread cards and the OCG's un-restricting of Preparation of Rites for October built enthusiasm for the future of Rituals here in the TCG, and sure enough, buyers who picked up Pre-Preps over the weekend hit it big when Preparation of Rites became Semi-Limited here in TCG territories.

Pre-Preparation of Rites has always been a big seller, and was the highest selling card week to week in the TCGplayer Marketplace in 2016. It may have some legs now that we've seen the new List.

#5: Toadally Awesome

There was no way to tell just how good Paleozoic Frogs would have it in the new format this weekend, but with Rescue Rabbit moving off the F&L List entirely, and no new restrictions being brought against the deck, Paleozoics are emerging as one of the most discussed strategies of the new format. We never really had to deal with Paleozoic Frogs at full Rabbit-power here in the TCG, but the deck was a monster in the OCG until Rabbit was cut down to size. Now it seems like competition is about to get a little more Awesome.

The 2017 Mega Pack reprint is currently on a neutral Price Trend, but it's very likely that strong sales will continue, and only a handful of sellers have significant stock left. Toadally Awesome could easily gain a couple bucks of value over the next week and a half.

#4: Full Force Virus

Still a big pick over the weekend thanks to Johnny Nguyen's success crushing Zoodiacs with Kozmos, the future of Full Force Virus is now up in the air, as the number one deck it was played to beat has been utterly eviscerated. It could see a comeback once the format takes shape, but for now, it's just too specific of a card to bank on.

#3: Proxy Dragon

Back in the Top 10 after a slip into speculative territory last weekend, Proxy Dragon emerges as a must-own in the new format, and while it's unclear why sales dipped for a short period of time you can expect to see more holdouts grabbing their copies now that the new Format's in place.

#2: Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries

The price point of Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries took a nose dive when it was reprinted in the 2017 Mega Packs, and it's been a big pick the past few weeks since it appeared in the Top 4 at YCS Rimini. It's risen a bit in price since, now commanding $7.50 or more the majority of the time.

Again, this is a metagame-specific card that may or may not prove to be useful in the new Advanced Format, and it's going to take some time for the competitive landscape to cement itself, so while it's a good buy now if you don't have your copies, it might not appear in tournaments for a while.

Outside the top 10 we saw continued sales for Drowning Mirror Force, Cyberdark Cannon, Cyberdark Claw, and Dark Magical Circle taking the Number 11 to Number 14 spots respectively. Wavering Eyes clocked in at Number 15 off more OCG F&L speculation, again paying off as that card escaped the F&L List here in the TCG.

Meanwhile we saw niche interest in Elder Entity N'tss, likely due to Cyberdark and Infernoid enthusiasm; Saqlifice thanks to some OCG speculation that failed to materialize; and Preparation of Rites, which as we now know, did get some more wiggle room on our List.

With the new F&L List in full effect, Friday's Market Watch column will be our first decisive look at player responses to the new Advanced Format! Join us then to see how thousands of buyers across North America reacted, and get a jump on competition for the weekend.
