Welcome to another Friday Market Watch!

YCS San Diego is just one week away, and this past weekend was the final series of Regional Qualifiers played under the previous F&L List. But the star-studded ARG Circuit Series in St. Louis was played in the new format, giving us a glimpse into the future of the Advanced Format .

SPYRALs, Pendulum Magicians, Lightsworn Infernoids, Burning Abyss, Frog Paleozoics, and True Dracos all made the Top 16 in that tournament, but it was Trickstars that took home top honors as Joel White captured the win. All of the Top Cut strategies were innovated in at least some ways to adapt to the new F&L List, making the decks from the ARGCS must-read material for San Diego… and making them hugely influential in the secondary market this week.

The ARGCS results combined with the continued hype forCyberse Link, and some new information about the upcoming LINK VRAINS Pack in the OCG, to guide the look of the TCGplayer Marketplace from Monday to Friday. Let's count down the Top 10 bestselling cards of the week, then talk about some of the near-misses and top speculator picks once we're finished.

#10: Metaverse

The repeated demand for Metaverse finally started to pay off this past weekend, played to a Top 8 finish at the ARGCS in St. Louis by Benjamin Deeter . He ran a really cool Trickstar deck with tech choices like Brilliant Fusion and Arrivalrivals, and with Set Rotation now Limited, triple Metaverse helped ensure that he'd always get to Trickstar Light Stage.

#9: Missus Radiant

Deeter also played Missus Radiant in his Trickstar build, and the eventual winner of the ARGCS, Joel White, made the same choice with his Trickstars . Both duelists played Scapegoat to help facilitate it, Deeter siding three copies and White maining a full playset. There was some speculation that the new Trickstar cards from CIBR would help push the theme toward more Link Summoning, but as it turns out they've continued to be unnecessary even for that.

#8: Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir

Bagooska's been a hot card since it was released, and with Pendulum Magicians putting in a few good showings at YCS London, and the deck returning to potential top contender status under the new F&L List, Bagooska's bound to see more play. It was run in Trickstars, Lightsworn Infernoids, and SPYRALs at the ARGCS as well, and it's clearly become the go-to Rank 4 in current competition.

#7: Tri-Gate Wizard

Fresh off its Number 2 debut on Monday, Tri-Gate Wizard helps smooth out the SPYRAL strategy as a new must-run control card, but it also saw play in Deeter's Trickstars. As Tri-Gate Wizard sees more success, there's a good chance that more players will try to run it in a wider span of strategies. It's really a phenomenal card that delivers on the sheer power level it promises.

#6: Proxy Dragon

Still one of the most commonly-run Link Monsters in the game, Proxy Dragon's only become more important as Cyberse Link and Circuit Break usher in more Link Monsters, and a more Link-centric landscape in competition. It's a key enabler for almost any Link Summoning strategy, and that's kept it hot weeks after its initial release.

A continued approachable price point and ready supply has kept those numbers high as more and more players gravitate toward Link Summoning.

#5: Storming Mirror Force

Up from Number 6 on Monday, Storming Mirror Force proved to be one of the biggest reprints in the Cyberse Link Structure Deck, offering non-targeting non-destructive mass removal. It's yet to appear in major Top Cuts, but the sheer number being sold suggests it might soon enough, and in the mean time it's definitely a card to keep in the back of your head for upcoming tournaments.

YCS San Diego will likely shape the future of this card's use just as it shapes metagames emerging from that event, so it's a good card to pick up now before the event, in case it becomes important afterwards.

#4: Dimensional Barrier

Dimensional Barrier's great against a lot of revitalized strategies, and it's especially good in an open format with the current mix of decks one can expect to see. Again, like Storming Mirror Force, the competitive prospects for Dimensional Barrier will be shaped by the results from YCS San Diego. But for now it's an incredibly safe bet, and the uber-powerful Trap Card has never been more affordable.

#3: Binary Sorceress

After seeing very Little Demand in the first weekend of Cyberse Link sales, Binary Sorceress made a huge rally in the TCGplayer Marketplace this week. While it's yet to see a competitive breakthrough – at least as far as we've seen in the Deck Archive – it has seen some limited play in logged SPYRAL decks over in the OCG.

This could just be follow through on OCG hype, or it could be a response to the rise of Trickstars; we saw some interesting measures over the weekend to gain Life Points and survive burn effects, such as Side Decked use of D/D/D Rebel King Leonidas, so there's at least some precedent there. Realistically the appeal may just be its price point, and the fact that if you squint hard enough and use Link Spiders, it's KIND of a better Proxy Dragon?

…KIND of?

#2: Cosmic Cyclone

The Number 1 bestseller over the weekend dropped to Number 2 this week, as Cyberse Link plummeted the cost of Cosmic Cyclone and opened it up to tens of thousands of budget players worldwide. It's an obviously great card to grab if you don't already own your copies, and that fact kept demand strong through Monday to Friday.

Beyond the Top 10, we saw a ton of niche demand and heavy speculation as we head toward YCS San Diego.

A very small group of buyers snagged tons of Mermail Abyssteus and Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince off the reveal of a new Mermail Link Monster coming in the OCG's LINK VRAINS Pack , which remains one of the biggest trendsetting factors in the game. Thousand-Eyes Restrict saw huge sales too, likely due to the reveal of the contents of Duelist Pack 19 , again in the OCG.

Meanwhile Solemn Strike took the Number 11 spot, Decode Talker took Number 12, and Toadally Awesome took Number 13 after a Top 8 finish from one of Paleozoic Frog's original innovators , Alfie Danklefsen at the ARGCS. Link Spider took Number 14, building off the use of Scapegoat in that tournament; and the freshly reprinted Glow-Up Bulb came in at Number 15, now much more affordable.

Everything was pretty clear cut this week, with market influences both domestic and foreign being easy to trace. Join us again on Monday, when we'll have our next update and our next bestseller list.
